The Chordettes’ performance on the Saturday Night Beech-Nut Show that aired on February 22, 1958 — a program hosted by Dick Clark — started with Lollipop, which would become a hit. It is undeniable, however, that Mr. Sandman was The Chordettes signature number. It starts at about the 4 minute mark. Some of the camera work and the creative use of the studio, especially during Clark’s intro and the first number, is remarkable.
