Here is the mystery song for the week of January 19, 2015:
This week, TDMB will award a half-point for the name of the song, a half-point for the rock group that covered it and a full point for the name of the blues legend who first recorded it.
Update: The answer to last week’s contest entry is “Splish Spash” by Bobby Darin. Here is more on the singer, who died far too young.
Update, Jan. 12: The answer was “Sweet and Dandy” by Toots and the Maytals. It’s from the soundtrack of “The Harder They Come,” one of the great music films. Check out more on Toots.
Update, Jan. 5: The answer was “Green Onions” from Booker T and the MGs. Here is our post on the classic and the band performing the theme from the Clint Eastwood spaghetti western “Hang ‘Em High.”‘
Email me your guess at this address. Also, please let me know if I have permission to send the mystery song to you directly at the email you send. The contest will run two or three times per week.
