Quite a Sendoff for Hamlisch

It’s no surprise that the tribute to Marvin Hamlisch, who died on Aug. 6, brought out the A-list. The post at The New York Times on the event —  held at the Julliard’s Peter Jay Sharp Theater yesterday — focuses on Barbra Streisand. It notes the other performers and attendees.

They included Liza Minnelli, Aretha Franklin and Itzhak Perlman and Lang Lang. In attendance, according to the piece, were Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Regis Philbin, Mike Nichols, Diane Sawyer and Joe Torre.
